About the Show

Brisbane City Council is looking for Brisbane’s best new musical talent

The QUBE Effect is an innovative music program providing online and live promotional opportunities and economic outcomes for emerging Brisbane musicians.

Up to 24 musical acts including soloists, duos and bands will be shortlisted by an industry panel to record a video clip and perform in the QUBE during Brisbane’s Youth Week celebrations, Friday 31 March-Sunday 9 April 2017.

Along with prizes and professional development, this year selected acts will have the opportunity to perform on Council’s stage at BIGSOUND 2017.

Musicians are invited to apply by submitting a recording of an original song. The competition is open to all genres and groups of all sizes with the majority of members aged 12-25 years.

Shortlisted acts will perform live at The QUBE Effect on Saturday 1 April 2017 in King George Square, Brisbane CBD.

Council’s website. Applications close on Friday 19 February 2017.
