Unfortunately, tonight's performance (Thu 23 Dec) of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard at The Princess Theatre has been cancelled.

Today we were informed by a patron who attended the King Gizz events on both Sunday 19 and Tuesday 21 December 2021 that they have tested positive for Covid-19, and were infectious while at our venue.

As a result of this our staff, security and technicians need to isolate until they receive a negative test result. Unfortunately, this means we have to cancel the final performance tonight.

The band and touring party had a Covid PCR test yesterday and have all received negative results.

If you have a 5-day ticket and have attended other performances, we strongly encourage you to go get tested as soon as possible, and isolate until you receive your results. You will receive further information from Ticketmaster via email and Queensland Health shortly.

Thanks for your understanding, and we wish you a safe and happy holiday.

Melbourne’s electrifying, eccentric, eclectic and prolific music, film and art collective KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD settle into The Princess for a career spanning residency over five nights.

The band will show a different side of their musical personality each night, offering wildly different experiences from nonstop Microtonal cuts to fluid Jams, Garage Rock sing-alongs, Heavy Metal thrash and a stripped back Acoustic experience.

King Gizz will be joined by special guest Grace Cummings.

Open Season is supported through Tourism and Events Queensland, the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, and both the Live Music Australia Fund and the Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) – initiatives of the Australian Government.

As of 17 December 2021 it is a Queensland State Government mandate that patrons, staff and artists above the age of 16 need to be fully vaccinated with an approved Covid vaccine to enter The Princess Theatre. Please do not purchase a ticket to this event if you will not be fully vaccinated by this performance date. You will need to provide proof of double vaccination upon arrival at the venue and patrons who fail to do so will be refused entry. More information about this can be found here.
