All the feels, all the love and all of the glitter – what a brilliant way to kick off Brisbane Festival at the Tivoli! From the minute our doors opened, the looks on everyone’s face was one of ‘Oh tonight is going to be fucking AMAZINGGGG’.

Something a little different from our regular gigs, tonight we were treated to an unforgettable rendition of the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet by some of Brisbane’s finest, including AirlingMiss Blanks, Greg Chiapello, Lucinda Shaw, Bec Laughton, Giema Contini, Tomtom and the stunning Electric Fields - all wound together by host and musical maverick Tom Dickins, and the sensational house band. Offstage, the crowd was amass of Capulets and Montagues of all shapes and forms - hawaiian shirts, Cleopatras, astronauts, knights and devils and angels and of course, Mercutio the magnificent! Once our beautiful artists had successfully made everyone shed a tear of nostalgia, the venue transformed into a magnificent dance party and with Electric Fields and Sullivan at the helm, staff and punters alike got down, dirty and flirty late into the evening. Thank you to every human who made this event possible, the greatest love story ever told with a big dose of 90s nostalgia never felt so good.
