Claudio Simonetti's Goblin play Suspiria
About the Show
In honour of its 40th anniversary, Brisbane Festival and the Australian Cinémathèque at GoMA are proud to present horror master Dario Argento’s beautiful, shocking and genre-defining classic Suspiria (1977).
In this unmissable screening, progressive rock legends Claudio Simonetti's Goblin travel from Italy to accompany the film live with their iconic score at this haunting, spectacular event. Suspiria epitomises the blood-soaked, sensual giallo genre, beloved by horror fans worldwide. Arriving at a prestigious dance academy in the Black Forest,an American ballet student stumbles onto the supernatural background to a series of horrifying murders. Viciously violent and exquisitely shot, Suspiria has influences as diverse as German Expressionism and Disney. This promises to be an all-out, nerve-shredding, audio-visual onslaught.
Each September, Brisbane Festival explodes across the city with a thrilling program of theatre, music, dance, circus, opera and major public events.
