Shutdown Series: Sahara Beck
Date / Time
If we can’t bring you to the music, we’ll bring the music to you…
Welcome to the Shutdown Series, live at What’s Golden.
Between now and when we reopen our doors, The Tivoli will be curating a series of live-streamed gigs that you'll be able to watch from the comfort of your self-isolation. Unless you’ve been living under a rock in fear, you'd likely know that artists and creatives everywhere are rapidly losing their ability to work and earn a living.
These special gigs will be live-streamed via our Facebook at various times throughout the next few months, and will be free to watch for those who can’t afford to donate. But for those who can, we recommend a $5 viewing donation - or more if you're feeling generous. The full set will also being available to watch at a later time, and donations will continue to be accepted until The Tiv reopens.
100% of all donations will go directly to everyone in the room - the artists, filmmakers, sound engineers, lighting designers, etc. We’ll even introduce them all so you know who you’re directly supporting. We also make a firm commitment to have no more than 10 people in the space for the filming.
Following each performance, the incredibly delightful Bec Mac from Bec Pops Art will sit down with each artist to talk publicly about their pathway through this unprecedented time.
Let’s not let the downtown shutdown get the better of us...
The first artist to feature in the Shutdown Series is no other than Brisbane local and good friend of The Tiv, Sahara Beck.

Roll out the red carpet… Brissie bombshell Sahara Beck is set to reign supreme with her glorious new EP, Queen Of Hearts. Lovingly crafted by ARIA Award-nominated producer Tony Buchen (Mansionair, Courtney Barnett, Montaigne), it’s fearless, flamboyant and brimming with seductive art pop, with Sahara’s sensuous voice shining front and centre. Two years in the making, it stars her previous singles ‘Here We Go Again’, ‘I Haven’t Done a Thing Today’ and ‘Don’t Overthink It’, which has already won over fans, radio stations and streaming services around the country.
Hot on their heels comes two new stunners, ‘Queen Of Hearts’ and ‘21st Century’. All suave synth and heady hooks, the title track sees Sahara spinning heartbreak into hope as she wrestles with love lost and finding herself.
