AND THE WINNER IS...
We’re so happy to announce that the winner of The Tiv’s Photo of the Year Comp for 2024 is…
Keely Baker
We had over 1,300 people cast a vote – huge! A big thank you to everyone who took the time to vote, the photographers who submitted and shared their entry, and our panel of expert judges.
This campaign has been a lotta fun—we’ve loved reminiscing about the epic events we’ve hosted while shining a spotlight on Brisbane’s incredible photographers.
Here's what our panel had to say about the winning shot:
"Shooting from the back of the room is already tricky enough to get an engaging image but this was perfectly timed, great composition and editing. The black and white really gives this image the raw power and energy of live music. I love the crowd in the foreground and overall was just drawn into this image. Brilliant work by this photographer."
"This image has a lot of energy and emotion, the beautiful halo of light wrapping around Sanchez spilling onto the crowd really creates beautiful depth. The editing as well as Stephen Sanchez' style feels like it could be from another decade."
"With this image you can almost feel the high this moment would have given everyone who attended. Technically the image is spot on. Well edited, correctly exposed and the composition is super interesting. I love that the image was captured from the balcony, bringing a more unique perspective. Lastly I think this photo is a great representation of both the performer and the photographer. If you have a look across Stephen Sanchez’s socials this image wouldn’t look out of place on his Instagram grid while also staying true to Keely’s own work."
Let's do it all over again next year!
