DAMIEN MITCHELL

Damien Mitchell is an Australian street artist / stencil artist who for the past 15 years, has been producing works across the globe, on structures up to 8 stories tall and on walls the length of city blocks.

Raised in Wagga Wagga, Damien spent 8 years of his late teens and early twenties in Prague, the past 10 years in New York, and has now returned home to Australia. Damien first dabbled with spray painting as a medium while working in a house paint store at 16. This provided him with a background in graffiti style works, honing his skills to become a renowned mural painter and street artist. His clients include the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, MTV, Doctors Without Borders, The Mi Sangre Foundation, DKNY, Google and Michelle Obama, among many other music and art festivals in more than 30 countries around the world.

BRISBANE STREET ART FESTIVAL

The Brisbane Street Art Festival is a city-wide outdoor art festival returning May 4th - May 19th! Immerse yourself in a myriad of large-scale murals, group exhibitions, powerful artist panel talks and a huge workshop program that has something for everyone.

The BSAF 2024 mural program will welcome artists from around the world and across the country to join significant local artists in revitalising some of Brisbane’s most iconic locations with public art.

This event is presented as part of Open Season - a curated program of music and art running from May to July 2024. Open Season has been supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland’s QASP program, the Strategic Partnerships Fund, and through Live Music Australia – an Australian Government initiative.
