Standing at the intersection of post-punk, new-wave and synth-pop, Belarusian band Molchat Doma have been touring their fourth album Belaya Polosa around the world since 2024. This December they’ll bring their pulsating live show to Australia’s east coast.
Founded in Minsk, Belarus, and now based in Los Angeles, Molchat Doma went viral in 2020 when their single ‘Sudno (Boris Ryzhy)’ appeared in hundreds of thousands of TikTok videos. The track eventually peaked at number two on the Spotify Global Viral 50 chart and has amassed over 350 million streams.
In the wake of their breakthrough success and release of their anticipated third album Monument, the trio endured a polarity of experiences, from the nadir of an uprooted life and forced relocation away from their native Minsk to the apex of headlining massive shows and festivals across the world. It was in this headspace that the band settled into their new home of Los Angeles to finish writing their fourth album Belaya Polosa, a testament to change in difficult times, a love letter to the digital pulse of the ‘90s, and a technicolour reinvention of the band’s somber dancefloor anthems.
Australia, get ready to experience the darker side of the dancefloor when Molchat Doma arrive this December.
